Phone or in person
Call 13 11 56 to pay by card, or visit a DoT service centre, regional agent or participating outlet with your notice.
The 1-month direct debit option
WA is one of the few states with a genuine monthly rego option: licence and MII are charged month by month via direct debit with a reduced $1.75 recording fee per instalment. It's a cash-flow tool — across a full year the repeated fees plus the short-term MII loading total slightly more than one 12-month payment, so if you can pay annually, that stays the cheapest path. Compare your own numbers in the calculator.
How much you'll pay
Your renewal amount is the weight-based licence fee plus the flat fee, the $9.70 recording fee and Motor Injury Insurance — the full structure is in the 2026/27 cost guide. Paying after the due date? Check the expiry rules, especially the 3-month lapse cutoff.
Frequently asked questions
How do I pay my rego online in WA?
Use DoT's Pay Online service with the plate number and payment number from your renewal notice, or log in to DoTDirect where every vehicle in your name is listed and payable by card. Both confirm instantly.
Can I pay WA rego monthly?
Yes — WA offers a 1-month renewal by direct debit, with a reduced recording fee of $1.75 per month. It spreads the cost, though across a year the repeated fees and short-term MII loading make it slightly dearer than a single 12-month payment.
Can I pay at Australia Post?
Renewal notices can be paid in person at participating outlets and DoT service centres and regional agents, by phone on 13 11 56, by BPAY from your bank, or by mail. Online remains the fastest.
Can someone else pay my rego?
Yes — anyone with the renewal notice details can pay. The licence holder doesn't change; only the payment is recorded.
